Artist's Comments

This was made as a present for :iconmirage-verius: and is the setting for her game, Sacred Earth-Bonds. This is the tower in which you spend most of the game trying to ascend, and the two main characters are shown approaching it. Of course I got a little carried away with the size and scale of it and it ended up being this insane vertical cathedral-looking structure of immense size that seemingly goes on for eternity.

This is easily one of the better ones I've done in a long time. I did the details on the tower entirely on paper (which took a good 2 hours not counting various distractions and caused my neck to ache for a while). The sky and clouds on the other hand were done entirely in photoshop (and they'd probably look better if I had a tablet). This one puts 2 of my stronger drawing skills to work - perspective and fine detail. Actually I don't think I've drawn anything this detailed in a long time. Heh.

the only thing i'd recommend is that you have to remember that clouds are a 3D mass, right now they look more like flattened cookie dough

Ok, this is beyond epic. Holy crap.

Thanks! Funny thing, I thought I was blowing it out of proportion but it turns out it was exactly what she was looking for. Heh.

Heh.

but if you look at the angle, I think the clouds fit very well

Niiiiiiiice work on that perspective...

i know what you mean, but the way he highlighted them makes them look only a foot thick at most. they also all appear to be at the same altitude, which adds to the illusion of flatness.
